Winston and Julia go to O'Brien's house by separate routes, but arrive at the same time. Winston leaves without the Newspeak dictionary.
I can only conclude he wants to get caught.
He almost ignored Julia, seeming to take it for granted that Winston could speak for her.
Silly woman. (When she does speak, it's to yell NO she won't be separated from Winston.)
